My Story: A premium feel metal pen created using recycled aluminium, rPET and stainless steel trim as well as a bamboo plunger. Materials that all lend themselves well to the Sustainable messaging. Aluminium is an easily recycled metal using a relatively low energy process compared to other metals and this pen can again be recycled after use. Bamboo and rPET is used in the small finishing on the pens clip/button section, replacing virgin plastic. The pens refill is rated to a writing distance of 1800 meters so the user can hold onto this pen for a long period of time. Item is engraved so no print inks are used in the branding. 

End of Life: An average pen refill will write for around 900-1000m, so we hope with a 1800m rated ink refill this pen will last much longer - but when it does reach its end of life, the components can be separated out and recycled or repurposed by the user.

• Aluminium - Can be reprocessed multiple times. Recycling aluminium uses only about 5% of the energy required for smelting, making it the metal with the highest recycling energy savings of any major material.
• Steel - The most recyclable material on the planet by weight (1085 million tonnes annually) - steel can be continually recycled.
• rPET (recycled PET) - Saves two-thirds of the energy usually required to produce virgin plastic. Recycling this again into can create containers, carpets, clothes, protective packaging, and other products indefinitely.
• Bamboo - A natural, sustainable material that breaks down in nature without dispersing contaminants.

• Ink refill* - placed into normal waste

*The ink refill for this pen can be replaced by the end user. It is a standard size and is available through various retail channels.
